Eastern chipmunk

Eastern chipmunk (Rodentia: Sciuridae: Tamias striatus) photographed 09/17/2011 above Blue Hen Falls at Cuyahoga Valley National Park near Akron Ohio.

Last weekend I saw a ton of eastern chipmunks (RodentiaSciuridaeTamias striatus) running around at Cuyahoga Valley National Park.  Since they were busy stuffing their faces for the impending winter, none of them seemed willing to hold still long enough to be photographed.  Finally at my last stop at Blue Hen Falls I managed to photograph this little guy sitting on a rock, nibbling on some bit of food.
